Paper airplanes, rubber band airplanes, kites, Frisbees, boomerangs, rockets and toy helicopters were all part of my childhood. I haven’t turned out to be an aeronautical engineer, pilot, airplane mechanic or any other profession related to flying. But flying toys were a big part of play and imagination for me when growing up. Even as an adult, things that fly provide intrigue and inspiration. It’s no wonder that people have been trying to mimic birds since time immemorial.
