Dolphins are an amazing mammal in the water. They are about as well-adapted to their environment as any creature can be. They’re sleek for speed, coordinated, intelligent. Perhaps they are the scholar athlete of the wild kingdom. For me they symbolize a state of perfection that we as humans reach once in a while when we have extraordinary moments in a variety of endeavors including sports, dance, acting, singing, playing a musical instrument. Sometimes people refer to this phenomenon as a “zen moment.” Dolphins seem to live mostly in such a high-functioning state. But I’m no marine animal expert. Nevertheless, I relish having my own “dolphin moments” from time to time.
